Glencraft has appointed Morven Mackenzie as its new Chief Executive. She succeeds Donald MacKay, who steps down after five years of dedicated service to the business, during which Glencraft has grown its reputation, strengthened its social mission and earned a Royal Warrant from His Majesty The King.
Morven brings a strong track record across both the private and third sectors. She spent more than six years as Managing Director of Hampton, a leading Aberdeen creative agency, and ran her own PR and communications businesses for 15 years before moving into the third sector. There, she has led the launch of local charity All Life Chances, overseen the rebrand of the Aberdeen Lads Club Community Project and contributed to a range of fundraising across Aberdeen’s priority neighbourhoods.
Beyond her professional work, Morven has made a significant contribution to the city through voluntary and civic roles. She is a Deputy Lieutenant, a board director at Aberdeen Inspired and the founder of Celebrate Aberdeen.
Commenting on her appointment, she said: “Glencraft holds a unique and important place in Aberdeen’s story. It combines world class craftsmanship with genuine, lasting social impact and that’s a combination I care deeply about.
“I’m privileged to be stepping into this role and look forward to working with the team, our customers and our partners to build on everything Glencraft has achieved in its remarkable history.”
Jonathan Smith, Chair of Glencraft, said: “I am delighted that Morven is joining Glencraft. She brings a rare combination of commercial experience, creativity and genuine passion for Aberdeen and its communities.
“Glencraft has a proud heritage and an important future. We are confident Morven’s appointment will help strengthen our social mission while continuing to grow the reputation of the business and the quality of our products.
“Under her leadership, we look forward to building on everything that makes Glencraft special, and to an exciting new chapter for the organisation and the people it serves.
“I also thank Donald for his significant contribution over the past five years and wish him every success for the future.”
