To complete that restorative experience, Wildland, alongside Cecile & Boyd, turned to Glencraft to supply handcrafted mattresses that embody natural luxury and enduring comfort.

Comfort, Built For Wilderness
WIldland properties are diverse in style but united in ethos. Guests may retreat to the spacious seclusion of Keeper’s Cottage or enjoy the cosiness of Ferryman’s Cottage, where interiors feature quiet palettes of Scottish nature and furnishings handcrafted for comfort and charm.
For Wildland, Glencraft designed bespoke mattresses combining the finest elements of two of our mattresses, The Monarch and The Heritage. Each was built by hand using natural fillings, including wool and horsehair, layered over individually pocketed springs to deliver precise, tailored support.
To complete the experience, we supplied our handmade alpaca mattress toppers, adding a further layer of softness and breathability. What results is a sleep experience that feels connected to the landscape – resilient, restful and deeply restorative, in keeping with Wildland’s celebration of natural beauty and quiet luxury.
The mattress itself was shaped in close collaboration with Cécile & Boyd, the interior designers behind Hope’s interiors. Their brief was exacting: natural materials, tactile finishes, nothing that competed with the oak, tweed, and flax already defining each room. We worked through the specification together, matching hand-selected wool and horsehair fillings to the palette and materiality of the space, so that the mattress felt less like a product placed into a room and more like part of its design from the start.
Detail In Design, Depth In Rest
The design of a Wildland room is one of balance — natural wood, muted tones, expansive views over lochs, forests, and hills. Within this setting, the mattress plays a quiet but pivotal role. Comfort is never an afterthought. It is part of the guest experience itself.
Nights are undisturbed, with natural fibres regulating temperature in the shifting Highland climate. Mornings are restorative. Guests wake, and the wilderness is still there, waiting.

Craft Doesn’t Stop At The Workshop Door
A handcrafted mattress is only half finished when the last stitch is set. The other half is the journey from a workshop in Aberdeen to a lodge at the edge of a loch, a cottage down a single-track road, an estate where the map runs out before the journey does.
For Wildland, that journey needed as much care as the mattress itself.
Nothing About This Order Was Routine
Every bespoke project begins with a production review. This one needed more. The specification was hybrid, drawn from two of our mattress ranges, and that meant new part codes for every size — built from scratch by our Planning and Procurement Coordinator, so that nothing on this order would be tracked, or treated, as ordinary.
A Landscape That Set the Terms
Wildland’s estate does not sit in one place. It stretches across a wide reach of the Highlands. Our Logistics Team mapped every mattress against its size and weight, then worked closely with the Wildland team to understand what access looked like at each property – because in the Highlands, the map is only ever the start of the story.
An articulated lorry was the only efficient way to move an order this size. But only if every location could take one. Several conversations later, it could – and the right courier, and the right route, followed from that.
Ready. And Waiting
Every item that arrived at our Aberdeen facility was checked. Sorted. Labelled. Nothing left to work out on the day. Then the site programme at Wildland shifted, as programmes do, and the order waited — complete, protected, still exactly where it needed to be, for as long as it needed to be there.
A Change, Absorbed Without Drama
Late in the process, it was requested that there should be one delivery point rather than many, with Cecile & Boyd’s own team carrying the order on to each property as it became ready. We adjusted. That is what a partnership does.
North, and West
On 9 February 2026, the order left our Aberdeen facility on a single articulated lorry. Every mattress. Every topper. Loaded once, secured once, bound for a landscape that is, itself, still being restored.
Still handcrafted. Still carried with care. Still Glencraft, wherever the road ends.
